Golden Egg: Classics Best Game

Qualifying

Friday, October 2: 1-6:45pm | Saturday, October 3: 9:15am-4pm

Players have 16 attempts to put up their best scores across a bank of 10 classics games. 7 scores will count.

There will be a PAPA style finals for a maximum of 16 players.

Qualifying Tiebreakers: Tiebreakers to get into the finals will take place immediately after the qualifying ends on Saturday. A tie will be settled by a one-game tiebreaker on a machine randomly chosen from the tournament bank.  Players not present will forfeit the tiebreaker. If there are ties amongst those qualified for finals, the player with the most top finishes (most 1sts and/or 2nds in qualifying) will be given the higher seed.

Ties will not be broken for anyone below the cutline.

Finals

Sunday, October 4: 9:15am

Finalists must check in with the TD by 9:15am.

Groups will be 4 players, playing in a round of 3 games. The scoring will be 4/2/1/0. The high seed in each group gets choice of games OR position. If you defer game choice to the next highest seed, then you will choose position. Deferring game choice means you defer game choice for the ENTIRE round. Choice of position means choosing the same position for all 3 games.

Each group may choose the same game as the last group, but the TD has the discretion of changing the order you play your games to prevent backups as much as possible.

The high seed can only choose the same games every other round.  So if they choose Flash, Genie, and Quickdraw round 1, they have to pick different games for round 2. However, in round 3, they could choose Flash, Genie, and Quickdraw again.

The players with the top 2 scores in each group will advance to the next round. If there is a tie to advance, players will play a one-game tie breaker. Higher seed may choose from games available for them to pick, excluding the 3 already played by their group that round.

Payouts to the top 16 players!

Finals Tiebreakers: Ties will be broken for 1st-4th, but not 5th-8th or 9th-16th.
